Emilio Rama
Emilio Rama is a Mexican artist who now divides his time between Queretaro and Puerto Vallarta. Rama's original artworks are characterized by references to Pop Culture with a critical eye on consumption and entertainment. He is heavily influenced by international artists of the region such as Gustavo Villegas, Ramses de la Cruz, Renato Gonzalez, Patrick Petterson, and Rafael Rodríguez. His recent collection "Bending Into Shape" presents animated characters as paper origami figures as a commentary on how infatuation with animation can make real life feel inherently two-dimensional. His pieces are available exclusively in New York at the Dat Galleries.
